Health stuff and Burma from space among other things @ 08:14 pm

my humor: determined
the sounds of: Foo Fighters - The Pretender

"Music Hath Charms to Calm Hypertension" - WEDNESDAY, May 14 (HealthDay News) -- Italian researchers have some advice for those with high blood pressure: Breathe slowly. Turn on some quiet, rhythmic music. And watch your high blood pressure take a little tumble.
(Shame there's nothing about reversing effects of low blood pressure and vertigo in the mornings after one wakes up.)

"Women Who Exercise May Cut Breast Cancer Risk" - TUESDAY, May 13 (HealthDay News) -- New research has found both bad news and good news on breast cancer risk.

"VIEW FROM SPACE: Before and After the Cyclone"

"NEW Remington Model R-25™" - Remington is excited to announce the Model R-25, a modular repeating rifle designed for big game hunters.

"US video game sales lifted by GTA" - US sales of video game consoles and software were up 47% in April from a year before, fuelled by the release of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) IV.
(I couldn't and probably never really will get into the Grand Theft Auto video game series, but some millions of other gamers around the globe can.)

At some point did we study... )

To fellow acquaintances in the western States (or just California) affected by the recent heatwave, I part the following word to you: cucumbers.

[Downloads] Junjou Romantica stuff and Mysteria; also APs @ 09:58 pm

my humor: craptastic
the sounds of: Mysteria - Awake Inside a Dream

Well, I certainly feel miserable.

Downloads under here. )

Babble here. )

Just to say, pineapple juice does wonders if you suffer from the common cold.

But still, I need a stronger antihistamine, or my exam's answer sheet will have some uncalled for gifts if I'm not too careful. :P Still, it's better than having a nosebleed trying to write out essays or speaking German into a recorder while taming said nosebleed.

...

Ach!

Nukes and Nudes @ 01:56 pm

I found this comment most amusing when I finished reading the AOL News article "Syra, N. Korea Accused of Nuclear Work."

American Women...Do Your Part To Help! Stand Up, Be Seen!

We need to get this message out. Please forward, America needs your help!

The President has asked that we unite for a common cause. Since the hard line Islamic people cannot stand nudity, and consider it a sin to see a naked woman that is not their wife, tonight at 7:00 pm, all women should run out of their house naked to help weed out the terrorists.

The United States appreciates your efforts, and applauds you.

God bless America.

Signed,

William Jefferson Clinton

If that campaign is successful, I guess there's something for the front page.
And in other news, the White House is having fun again with nuclear talk. Wait, that's not news.

"Blighty - noun; British Slang: England as home" @ 03:36 pm

current location: baking in a building
my humor: curious
the sounds of: Moi dix Mois - Metaphysical

Because something interesting here caught my attention at [info]code_geass. Largely in response to the generalisation the poster made. It's also a wonderful opportunity for me to learn about another culture and understand an imaginary world at the same time~

Not once do you hear the characters say "bloody," "bugger," "Blighty," or "zed."
Click for a teenage-Americanised discourse. )

Everything aside, I'll enjoy the second installment of fiction as what it is: fictionscreens ladened with fanservice catering to the otaku girl and boy.

Also in other news, it is annoyingly hot. 97F/36C is not my thing when it's just April.

*Addendum @ 17:37: In the light of my own sleuthing, I find that the information provided by [info]zerorevenge is also found at the Wikipedia page. Draw your own opinions, fellow readers. :P
